I know it was the cult car of Oppo for a while, but do you still enjoy it? The reason I ask is that I’m planning on testing one out tomorrow. I’m not in the position to buy at the moment, but if Ford’s website is correct, I can easily afford to lease one(I know, leasing is bad). Everything in the Slowrunner is failing at once, and I don’t have the time, patience, or funds(if it keeps going) to have someone else fix it. So it will become a project of sorts. What I am getting at is this, I need a new car. I don’t want something I’m going to have to tinker on during my time off, and I do want something that I can afford to drive to work and school when I start.

What’s your budget? Have you looked at the Dart? You could get one loaded w/a manual for around 24k. Just a suggestion

That’s more than the Fiesta I’m planning on looking at tomorrow.

2 years on and still love it, its a great little car. reliable, efficient, comfortable, traffic friendly commuter, and storming back roads is fun as hell. i wish it didn’t suffer from American Car Interior Squeakitus, but the struggle is real... my insurance is about $1000/yr.

Awesome! Do you mind telling me your age, because I’m 21 and that has a lot to do with insurance?

I know you're not a GM guy, but my Cruze RS fucking rocks, is only $186 a month, and it makes fun brappy sounds. Highly suggest it to anyone. And I hate small cars and 4 bangers.

I just can’t do it, our luck has always been terrible with the Bowtie, new or used. I’m glad you enjoy it, and I’m sure it’s a good car, but I just am not going to risk it.

i’m 38. my driving record is very good, but not spotless *coigh*speeding*cough*. for comparison the insurance on the FieSTa is $70 more a year than it was on my 2011 Hyundai Elantra Touring

I’m about to cross 10k miles in my molten orange with recaros. It is way too much fun, very practical (I actually have some rough sawn hardwood lumber in the trunk right now), great on gas, really turns heads, makes incredible turbo noises and moans, etc, etc.
I currently pay about $900 a year for insurance (including collision) and I’m 23 with a clean record. Protip, I use progressive because they do not differentiate between an ST and a regular Fiesta.
I used to own a MINI, which I traded in for this FiST. Let’s just say I think the FiST is more MINI than the current or previous gen MINI.

Is there a new cult car of Oppo?

I've had my FiST since Aug 2014 and have loved it ever since. My insurance is right under $900/year. 26 with collision and comp
